Any suggestions? Who has suffered a stuffy nose and used their CPAP? I have a Full Face Mask; last night I fell asleep on my bed without my machine; viral infection. I woke up with a stuffy nose. I'm afraid to sleep with it because I can't breathe that well out of my nose. I think I have a sinus infection. I'm new to this C-Pap Machine; going on 3 months now... Does anyone have any advice? Last night, I used a sinus rinse kit to help keep my nose unclogged. The night before I used it; everything was fine...then last night I happened to use some salt; too much I believe...my nose was burning and I could feel it burning all the way through my sinus cavaties...weird sensation... I should have used the packets of solution that came with it; but I had to experiment on my own, LOL.

I think I learned my lesson...no more self induced experiments with salt going up my nose. I didn't snort it...I put the bottle up to my nose; I squeezed it; I was able to breathe in and out of my mouth and I felt the pressure and it came out the other side of my nose...last night burned like hell...too much salt...today I woke up with a a stuffy nose and now I'm going to bed with a stuffy nose. I'll probably try sleeping with my c-pap machine to see what happens.

I think that for the rare times when you have a viral infection and you're all stuffed up, the thing to do is to skip using the CPAP that night. then go back to it when you're not sick. that's personally what I would do in your situation. maybe someone else has better advice though.
you might wanna see your dr about some different nasal sprays, do you have allergies??..
great advice mike, my dr suggested the same especially when if your stuffy it can end up with majr sinus infection been there done that OUCH,, but thsanks for takin the time on here..

I went to my doctor; she understood about me not using my CPAP. I'm trying to be compliant, but if it comes down to my health then I'm gonna have to sleep without the CPAP until this congestion goes away; in the meantime I'm going to clean my humidifier, wash my hose; my little sponge filter and my mask. In the meantime; I'm enjoying my bed time pal, Blackie, he's by my side until I get better, plus he's going through a rough time too. He came back from the vet with anti-biotics, one less tooth and now he's happier that the snaggle tooth is no more. His mouth was infected and on top of that he's been living with a heart murmur and an enlarged heart. Our days are numbered together. He has a congenital heart defect. I'm on anti-biotics as well too and it's almost been 2 weeks since I last spent time with my boyfriend because of my viral or bacterial infection. I'm also glad to report that I'm off Nuvigil 250mgs. And I'm going to Stanford to see another sleep disorder doctor. I'm really tired of doctors shoving pills into my mouth; it's about time that a doctor pays attention to what I say and gets down to the root of the problem stead of covering it up with medication.
