Ok i have to be honest i get excited when new CPAP Machines come out probably more than I should but i can't help it.  I love the direction the technology is going in and i'm glad i get to be apart of it.  I'm in the sleep business and have seen alot of things come and go but i really think this machine by Fisher Paykel is finally something differen't.  We will be selling it here on our site http://1800cpap.com/fisher-and-paykel-icon-auto-cpap-machine-coming...

Come check it out and see the features and design for yourself.  The SensAwake from a clinical standpoint is really advanced and beneficiall technology.  However my favorite part is the fact that the alarm clock and MP3 player built in.  Space has always been an issue for me because of this reason.  I'm looking forward to getting one when it's released.

Thanks for checking it out on our site.

F&P makes some excellent machines and their blower motors are top of the line. I own one of their older models and use it for travel because it is very durable, reliable and quiet.

However, IMO, they have made a mistake and cheapened their product by including an alarm clock and an MP3 player.

If I want to buy a new alarm clock or a new MP3 player, I want to choose from the latest technology of the leading suppliers of those devices. I don't want to buy them from a CPAP manufacturer.

If this model turns some people on, good for them to have the choice. But I don't think the player and clock will do anything significant to boost the sales of this model.
I respect that opinion. The jury is still out on how the machine will perform. I think it comes down to preference and the 2 types of people in the world. "The bells and whistles" and the non-bells and whistles type of people. One thing you can be sure of, Respironics and ResMed are probably already working on a proto-type with those features. I personally want an IPAD CPAP Machine with a removable touch screen face...:) Joking.
What happens when the ipod or alarm clock break? where do we take it to get fixed. Apple, Timex, or F&P?
I'd say Apple Rock they have more money..F and P stock closed at like 2.20 Apple is around 270.97
Maybe were in the wrong business..

I like the way that you think jnk. However I do not think that more pressure would do anything for the events caused by the transition from wake to sleep. That is to say as long as they were not obstructive in nature. These events are usually caused by the change in the pressures and the differences in the gas exchanges that come with falling asleep. We go through a similar change in breathing when we transition from NREM to REM.

My present machine has a clock inside it (though it is hard to get to) and it has mask alarm. So it makes sense for someone to put the two together to make a functional alarm clock, I guess.

I am not exactly sold on SensAwake yet, though. Many significant obstructions occur during the instability of wake-sleep and sleep-wake transitions, as I understand it. Seems to this not-so-educated patient's brain that such transitions would be a good time to keep the pressure UP, not down. (But, hey, what do I know?) Besides, I might actually enjoy hitting the ramp (settle) button if I woke up in the middle of the night and wanted less pressure as I fell back asleep. Might make me feel in control of something. So I don't need a glorified automatic ramp button, myself.

I believe this is the new brochure for professionals . It was just posted yesterday.

The brochure is impressive. Let's see how the machine does over time.
Thanks for that link Banyon, i will have to post this to my site... I will also get feedback from people who buy from us and post results back here in a few months. That is if it releases soon...
