I feel great when I wake up in the morning, I feel like I slept well, I feel really good. I'm able to make it to work, but more importantly, I'm alert and able to work without yawning every 5 minutes, but I'm still going to sleep on the early side in the evenings, like 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. during the week. And on the weekends, I'm still take 2 naps a day, that last between 2 to 4 hours and going to bed by 10:00 p.m.. Why am I still so tired? I am schedule for a MSLT this Friday, my sleep doctor says I have a sleepy brain...lol.

"They use it to test for narcolepsy, which I'm sure I dont have, and idiopathic hypersomnia"

Don't be so sure 1 out 2000 have it.
Lala, my sleep MD told me it can take a long time for some people to pay off their sleep debt and that I shouldn't put pressure on myself worrying about How long? and When? and Why? It's a healing process that varies greatly between people across the board.

I'm finding it's kind of up and down with me. I have better days and then not-so-good days. No pattern. It just is what it is. I'm starting to believe that I'm slowly improving even if I'm not up to par on a given day.

So take it easy, beezy!!!

Ya, but Rock, I dont have the symptoms of narcolepsy. I dont fall asleep at the drop of a hat. There is a lady that I work with who has it, and before she was on medication, you'd be talking to her, and she'd just fall asleep in the middle of a sentence.....it was very odd. The only symptom I have that is considered a symptom of narcolepsy is the sleep paralysis, which only has happened maybe 6 times in my life. Know what I mean, jelly bean?

Hi Susan,
That's what I'm thinking, I'm thinking I just need to work off this sleep debt. And just like you, I have my good days and then my sleepy days. I'm gonna go take the test Friday just to rule out possibilities, and if everything turns out fine, then ya, I can probably assume its just my sleep debt.

Hi Lala!! I'm wondering if that's what my sleep doc's gonna recommend when I see him in December. I'm keeping a sleep diary per his request, so it'll be interesting to see what he thinks.

Keep the faith, honey. That's what I'm trying to do too, on a daily basis!

LALA--- THIS IS GREAT NEWS! Like others posted, you were sleep deprived for a long time, being a mom I understand!
I hope you sleep as much as your body tells you to, with CPAP. It took me 6 months to fully realize how bad I felt.I hope you can accept a less "scheduled" life in exchange for this, if that (like many) was a portion of your lifestyle, and you are repairing yourself and not doing damage to your heart as long as the mask fits and I hope you keep us posted.
