FYI only--I haven't tried this yet. My DME tech, who's been a CPAP user for 26 years, told me that leaks can be resolved with wax ear plugs!!

He said you just warm the wax in your hand then roll it into a tube or something that makes a seal for the leak.

Has anyone else ever heard of this technique?

I have heard of this being done, but never tried it. I wonder about the wax reaction to the masks seal and durability?
Yup, Mack's Silicone Ear Plugs. Cheap and effective. Depending on whether just the bridge of the nose area or a larger area, take 1/2 or a full "plug", roll it in your palms to form a thin rope or tape and lay it on the mask cushion in the area needed, then don your mask. The warmth of yuor facial skin will finish the sealing. It will usually last 2-4 nights. Then just remove and replace w/a new one.
Dan--I don't know about effects to mask--I didn't know enough at the time to ask. However, this guy's very spontaneous and concerned with mask care--I'd have thought if it affected the mask he'd have mentioned it. All I know is he uses as do a couple of other people he knows.

LOL re: your new mattress!!

Yes !! Mack's is what he said. Dan was wondering about negative effects on the mask--have you had anything like that?

Dan--just got a message from Judy--she says it's actually Mack's silicone ear plugs and it works for 2-3 nights!

Mack's are silicone, not wax. Just a gentle wipe of the cushion if you feel any residue will do the trick.
P.S. on this Discussion--it's actually Mack's silicone ear plugs and it works for 2-3 nights, per Judy.
I have also heard of some folks using Mole Skin for nose bridge leaks.
Ooo, moleskin!! I never would have thought about that...

Re: our MF friend (no pun intended!)--I totally agree with you. And "our" Mike said the same thing.

Thanks for the guidance.

And don't forget Padacheeks for both bridge of the nose and if you have problems w/strap marks, etc. Hose covers too.
Judy -

Can you tell me more about padacheeks?
