Could someone tell me the Allowed Vent Rates for the following masks?
Resmed Mirage Quattro
Resmed Mirage Liberty
Resmed Ultra Mirage

And in VPAP Auto mode, IPAP 13, EPAP 8, Pressure Support 5, reported Pressure 10.4
IPAP 12, EPAP 7, PS 5, reported Pressure 9.4
IPAP 11, EPAP 6, PS 5, reported Pressure 8.4
IPAP 10, EPAP 5, PS 5, reported Pressure 7.4

they all range between 30 and 38L/pm at those reported pressures. Your leak rate will be on a floating scale due to the nature of your Bpap.
Thank you ever so much, Rock Hinkle!! As always you manage to save the day!!!

As near as I can determine the PMI ProBasics Zzz-Mask's allowed vent rates are as follows:

Pressure 3 cms = 15 L/M
Pressure 10 cms = 30 L/M
Pressure 20 cms = 42 L/M
Pressure 40 cms = 62 L/M

The Resmed Mirage Quattro and Ultra Mirage allowed vent rates are:

Pressure 10 cms = 37 L/M
Pressure 20 cms = 54 L/M

HOWEVER, the Resmed Mirage Swift LT and Swift LT for Her AVRs come closest to the Zzz-Mask's AVR

Pressure 10 cms = 31 L/M
Pressure 20 cms = 42 L/M

Resmed advised me in response to my e-mail question when using a non-Resmed mask we should always use the Standard Mask Selection w/an AVR of 24 L/M

Velbor, whom I HIGHLY respect, has maintained that when using a non-Resmed mask we should choose a Mask Selection based on the Resmed mask w/the AVR closest to the AVR of the non-Resmed mask.

My own recent experience w/the ProBasics Zzz-Mask and the Resmed VPAP Auto has me questioning Resmed's advice and leaning more towards Velbor's suggestion.

I'm going to add 24 L/M to my recent results w/the Zzz-Mask at the Standard Mask Selection and then for a couple of nights use my Zzz-Mask at the Swift Mask Selection and compare the Leak and AHI results just to see "wha' hoppens".
Ha! Just in case I had any ideas otherwise, I do NOT walk on water! And, man, when I screw up I do so BIG TIME!

I have repeatedly stated, and corrected even those professionals who said otherwise, that when one used the Standard Mask Selection on a Resmed when using a non-Resmed mask the AVR was automatically 24 L/M. And I have based that information on e-mailed info I received from Resmed in reply to my question regarding this.

It bothered me that two of my "heroes" Rock Hinkle and Velbor (and RestedGal at cpaptalk) advised using the Resmed Mask Selection for the Resmed mask whose AVR most closely matched the AVR of the non-Resmed mask you were using.

I FINALLY was able to find those original e-mails.

10:39 AM - 06/06/07 "The allowed leak is 0.4L/s (24L/min). The S8 Elite and Vantage will compensate for higher leaks with increased pressure as they both have pressure and flow sensors.

Kind Regards,

"

HOWEVER, whenever I referred back to this e-mailed reply I obviously did NOT read down to MY QUESTION to Resmed.

"When one uses the Standard mask selection with the Resmed S8 Elite or Resmed S8 Vantage what is the allowed (and subtracted?) leak rate for that selection setting at a pressure of 8 cms for the Elite or a pressure range of 7 cms to 11 cms for the Vantage?"
What do you mean you do not walk on water Judy?
I often wonder how long I'll have to be on SleepGuide before I have a clue about the tech stuff you guys talk about. I'm totally in the dark and, frankly, I don't care. It's interesting but trying to understand it is a total mystery to me.....I truly admire the newbies who get on here and right away are talking tech.

I just want the darn thing to work!!!

(oh, and BTW Hinkle, Judy DOES walk on water. I spied her once, in the deep, dark night, strolling across the White River. She was carrying a ResMed bag. She doesn't know I saw her, so don't blow my cover.....)
