A pap nap is a new kind of study that has been seeing some very good results. Instead of going in for an overnight titration you go in during the day for a nap. I believe in some cases you can even use our own machine. These very personal studies serve a dual purpose. One is to help fine tune the machine to your personal preferences by adjusting the settings and making sure that your pressure is where it needs to be. The other is to help solve the compliance and tolerance issues that you may have. During these studies you are allowed to try on many different masks and ask questions of one of the day techs. these techs are almost always certified in some aspect of sleep. Not to mention the docs are there during the day.

This sounds like a great idea.

I'd love to shoot in and see why my machine still stays AHI about 15-20 after a number of nights with measured mask leakage zero or near zero. Seems like naps would be easier to schedule and would make working towards good therapy easier to do.
this is something that the sleep labs are offering? sounds like a great idea if they can get enough data off of a nap.
Sounds like a great idea to me!
only a few labs are doing this as of yet. The most expensive test I ahve seen has been 500$. The insurance companies are experimenting with it. These studies got great reviews in Seattle.
