I read that compliance is a lot higher but the jury is still out on how effective they are. Any one have more info on how well they work? I am sure most of us would rather deal with a mouth piece than xpap. I know I would.
Oral appliances are about 20% effective. You have got to remember oral aps work only if your tounge is the only obstruction. Most people have multiple obstructions. They help.....but they do not cure. I've tested many of these devices.
I'm all for whatever will be effective for a patient. One drawback to oral appliances is that they don't monitor data like CPAPs do, so it's very hard to know how effective they are being.
