I would insist on a fully data capable CPAP and make it clear I would not accept anything less. YOU are paying for this equipment, whether thru or out of pocket is immaterial, YOU are still the one paying for it. It is YOUR sleep, YOUR therapy, YOUR health. Of course, you have the right to politely insist on accepting ONLY a fully data capable CPAP.
The Resmed S8 Elite II w/EPR is a good choice for a straight CPAP.
The Resmed S8 AutoSet II is a good choice for an AutoPAP (APAP).
The Resmed VPAP Auto is a good choice for a bi-level.
Your sleep doctor will be the one to decide which type of xPAP you need. You just want to insist that whatever type xPAP it might be, it MUST be fully data capable or you won't accept it.
Just because an xPAP has a data card does NOT mean it is fully data capable. The Resmed xPAPs I mentioned above all are. Not all Resmed xPAPs are fully data capable.
Not all Respironics xPAPs are fully data capable either.
The Respironics M Series Pro w/C-flex is fully data capable.
The Respironics M Series Auto w/C-flex or w/A-flex is fully data capable.
The Respironics M Series Bi-PAP w/Bi-flex is fully data capable.
The DeVilBiss IntelliPAP AutoAdjust is fully data capable.
The DeVilBiss IntelliPAP Bi-level is fully data capable.
I'm not sure about the DeVilBiss IntelliPAP Standard.
The Covidien (Puritan Bennet) Sandman Info (NOT the Intro) is fully data capable.
The Covidien (Puritan Bennet) Sandman AutoAdjust is fully data capable.
Fisher & Paykel make 2 fully data capable xPAPs but rather than a name for their models they give them a number and I can never remember which number is which device.
I went to Dr. The lab said they don't carry or work with home data capable machines.
