Full Face Mask.JPG

I am a new user of the CPAP therapy and have slept 2 nights with the machine and mask.  Currently the DME fitted me with a Resmed Mirage Quattro Full Face while sitting in a chair (I really wish now that they had a recliner for the fitting). I have posted the picture of the mask on face above.  My concern is I am not sure if it fit me properly even though the DME lady said it was fine.  The mask is already sitting close to my eyes.  When I lay down on my side, I have to move my mask down and center a little bit.  I noticed throughout the night the mask is very close to my eyes and swished my eyelashes a little bit.  The other concern is that the air coming of the vent is going into my eyes which dry them out some and create allergies gunk (gross I know).  The size I have is x-small and I have a very petite face.  I also get a slight red marks.

Is it normal for a mask to be close to your eyes?  How do you fix the air from going into your eyes?

Thanks, Corinne

For me.. and I have a full face mask..I click the little adjustment between your eyebrows.  It really is bothersome for the air to be blowing into your eyes. The entire mask is adjustable for you. You can adjust the straps going around your head and the ones going across the lower part of your neck in the back. Others here can tell you what they do for the red marks on your face. I always wake up with a little bit of a line across my lower cheeks.  I think the little click thing in between your eyebrows always fixes that problem for me. I don't 'think the mask should be up as high as it looks in the pic you have.

Hi Sheila!  Thanks for your response!  So the little adjustment between your eyebrows should fix the bothersome air?

In the picture I placed the mask on the bridge of my nose to the crease of my chin.  It practically cover my whole face since I am only 4'7" tall and petite.

Hi Corinne, I just Got fitted with a mirage quattro also .Do you have a hose managment system?(sumthing to suspend the hose) It makes for less tugging when you turn on your side .The turn adjustment between your eyes and the lower chin strap tightness will help leakage arround the eyes .I have used eye gell and drops to reduce dry eyes .The seal seams best when the mask is sweeky clean . Good Sleep,Chris
Thanks Chris!  I will definitely try these tips tonight.  Corinne

Hi Corinne. I use a nasal pillows mask (does not cover mouth) and a chinstrap (to keep my mouth closed at night)

here are the links/ pictures, chinstrap is under the mask...

I love my Swift Mirage mask, I have Mirage I and II, I have the "LT" also(duel-walled nasal pillow-puffers,, with 2 down bed pillows, I can lay on my side, if you see in the picture, I can use a velkro strap and fasten the supply tube up as high as I want, I have it as shown, but the chinstrap is key to getting a closed seal, when not using a full face (covering both nose and mouth), I'm still experimenting for the ultimate chinstrap.

Laying on the side with this line of nasal pillow mask is great, fyi, bed  pillows are  a key to comfort, if you fasten the supply tube near the top of the mask strap, you can flip the tube up over your head, let it rest between your pillow and head board. I loop it around a small lamp on the nightstand down to the machine on a chair.

Let us know how you are doing, ok?
