NFL study just released connecting being pro football player with substantially higher incidence of dementia later in life. But the study seems to focus on the blows to the head that football players sustain, and not that football players have thicker necks, which puts them at greater risk of sleep apnea, which in turn leads to cognitive impairment if left untreated. full article is at following URL: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/30/sports/football/30dementia.html?_r=1

That is a tough call Mike. Those guys take a beating. it would be hard to tell the difference between the the effects of apnea and being punch drunk.
