just got home from the sleep lab from having my first ever sleep study and i do have sleep apnea,

do not know at this time what kind i have , the slep tech would not tell me alot except i do have it and i needed to make an appointment to come back to do another study with a cpap and something called titation whatever that could be, i am  assuming it is to find the best setting to put the cpap on but since i am a newbie i have no clue what this intells.

don't know how i feel about this, know i am not by myself with this sleep disorder , but the medical doctors have no clue how to handle patients with a sleep disorders, at least mine does not. i had to go find my own sleep specialist myself because i knew something was not right with my sleep patterns , or should i say lack there of.

Good Luck, Ernestine.  You have it exactly right.  The next night in the sleep lab will be for titration where they will hopefully determine your optimal pressure.  You want to be sure you sleep that night, so if you had any trouble sleeping for the first night be prepared with a sleeping aid, your own pillow, or whatever will make you more comfortable.  It should be like your first night, but you will sleep with the mask and machine.  I believe most of us do ok for this part.  You were smart to take it on yourself to find a sleep specialist and get everything set up.  No question is too small or too complicated.  Keep us posted and post if you have ANY questions.
You are on the right track .Learn as much as you can .Put your questions on paper and take notes when at the lab and doctors office. Good Sleep,Chris
