Well, into each life a little rain must fall; last couple days we've gotten more than our fair share. I can't seem to get to sleep before 4 or 5 am. Then i only sleep till 10 or so, and its off to work. The last few days have been nyc,nyc and nyc, w today delivering in the Bronx, 4 blocks from Yankee Stadium. No pressure! Just another day in paradise. With a few million other folks. I almost hit a car on my blind side [for 4 wheelers, the drivers side of a truck is the 'SIGHT' side, cause you can turn your head, or stick it out the window and look at things, the passenger, right-hand side is the' BLIND' side, cause you must use mirrors to see it] The auto came around me to cut me off as I was exiting I-87 [Deegan] . He was on the shoulder. New Yorkers like to use every bit of the road surface! So... I came within 4 inches of testng his hospitalization. No pressure! I think i will try to catch a few zzzz's w my CPAP. Last couple of days, been a lota water in my air tube- since the change in temp/ season. Anyone know Why and/or how to fix? Anyone who has seen my picture knows i need alota beauty sleep. So all you four-wheelers out there, slo-o-o-oww dooowwn... take it easy. And don't forget [as w trucks] If you can't see my ugly mugg, I CAN'T SEE YOU! Everyone be safe, get some sleep.

The photos are of me and my 6 yr old attempting to build a doll house. I would like to finish it for her before she finishes college. Its tough to find time for your family and your self, especially w 14 hour workdays, 6 days a week
Dave, turn your humidifier down if you're experiencing 'rain out'. Keep your CPAP below the level of your head/mattress. Hang your hose above your head, then the condensation just runs back down to the humidifier. Turn your humidifier heat off and use it as a passover humidifier. Buy a tube cover.
Yep, Dave, all Judy's suggestions are the hot ticket for rainout.

Jeez, sounds like you've had a tough week--hope you're getting some decent sleep....

If you are on the road when, find a Dollar Tree or other such store. Many have socks for sale (at least in Missouri) and cut the toes open. Put the tube socks over your hose and use some tape, rubber bands, etc. to hold the socks in place. This should help until you can get a SnuggleHose cover of some type.

If you know someone that can sew, purchase some fleece and measure around your hose and have them sew the seams together. Or you can purchase one ready made from our sister site.
Thx for the tips. I am not turning the moisture off completely as i then get dry mouth. except its like, dry mouth, nose, throat and chest. but just placing the unit down lower than me should help, right? ill have to see about buying / making a cover. Thank you.
Susan, i wish this was a tough week, but its just average. i guess i shouldnt complain about my lot in life. at least i have a job.in the last 3 months, about 25 guys got fired, usually for having accidents. we had one accident that cost$125,000. the driver backed into a power pole w a transformer [knocked it down] and left the scene. all on videotape. oopsy. ... the company was not amused. of course you know the difference between a truck driver and a puppy?... the puppy stops whining after 9 months. lol
thx for the tips carol
Dave, I know the trucking business is tough. I don't cut any trucker off on the on-ramp, I hope everyone understands how long it takes you to brake! Sleeping in the cab with CPAP is great, I hope it works for you and others. The railroad volumes are way down, except for coal shipments to China, which they don't need, but are stockpiling. Steel prices continue to fall, despite Chinese ore imports, so trucking, so I know the companies, Yellow, Hunt, independents, whatever, are in a bind. Take care and hope CPAP works for you.

My opinion? It's possible to be grateful and bitchy at the same time!!!!!

Yep, hubby drives oversized loads and has driven many a hazmat loads -- says many must have death wishes by the way they drive (the 4 wheelers).
Hey trucker people!! Do any of you know if there's an age limit for driving hazardous materials? The reason I ask is that last week we had a horrendous chemical explosion on a truck driving into Indianapolis--it shut down the entire NE side of the city for pretty much all day and night, and did huge damage to overpasses, exit ramps, etc.

The driver was 73 years old. I'm 67, so this isn't a prejudicial issue for me--it DOES seem, though, that 73 is on the old side for running that kind of a load. I can't remember the specifics of how it happened but I know there's been a lot of talk re: his age. Can't even remember if he survived--I know no one else was injured.....just curious to know what you guys think........
