Okay I have a question. Lets just say if something happened to where I could no longer have a CPAP michine, what would happen to me in the long run or would there be a long run for me? I know I would not want to be driving. As I have been so much better with the CPAP then with out it.
I would be up the creek without the old Puritan Bennett Goodnight 314 that was given to me by my neighbor after her husband died (too young with cancer). I didn't even know he'd been using one. It has no smart card and it's a little noisy, but at least it has a humidifier (not heated), and it's made such a difference in my life! Every morning I wake up and thank Steve in Heaven for helping me to continue breathing! :)
I also didn't know just how bad my situation was until reading on this board what all the numbers mean!! My AHI was 123 and I know the doctor said I had a severe case, I didn't know just how severe! The kicker was that the study was done in 10/08, but with no insurance I could not afford even a used machine so went without until 3/09 when I got the above mentioned donation. My prescription was for a bi-pap (looks like I failed cpap @14 CM) but the cpap I'm using is better than NO-pap! :)
I'll explain how I ended up getting the study but no machine in the My Story section....or did I do that already? LOL Hey, menopause is no fun either!!
