- You would be putting yourself at risk for other health related issues. Diabetes, high blood pressure, lack of oxygen to the brain during the apneas, stroke, etc. It often leads to an earlier death for non-users. My sister-in-law died in her sleep -- no way of knowing -- but I have wondered if she had sleep apnea.
