Vicki, you've really caught my interest on a couple of issues related to the Resmed Adapt SV.

First things first, do you have the newer version? The Resmed Adapt SV enhanced? WhiteBeard, usually to be found over at the apneasupport.com forum, didn't do well w/the Resmed Adapt SV either but since his provider replaced that w/the Resmed Adapt SV enhanced he has done WONDERFULLY.

I'm really curious about your observation of the Adapt SV "ramping" up the pressure at the end of exhalation by dropping the exhale pressure instead of an excessive delay before starting your next breath - which you say is Central sleep apnea.

I've run in to something similar w/the Resmed VPAP Auto if I try to use it in straight bi-level mode. I have to use it in auto bi-level mode w/the Pressure Support set the exact number of cms between IPAP and EPAP, i.e. IPAP 13, EPAP 8, PS 5. Set that way it is running like a straight bi-level but the new EasyBreathe techonology which isn't active in straight bi-level mode is active and breathing and sleeping is SMOOTH and EASY w/it set that way.

In straight bi-level mode I run into that same or very similar too abrupt pressure transition between IPAP and EPAP.

And ONE person, after reading of my travails, has said he keeps wondering when my sleep professionals are going to wise up and put me on an Adapt SV. On the other hand, I've had very few Centrals during my sleep evaluations and my titrations and re-titrations.

Interesting that you mention you returned the FullLife because it sits lower on the nose. THAT happens to be a feature that I prefer. Something sitting right at the bridge of my nose, even eye glasses, tends to "milk" my sinuses.

My favorite is definitely the Mirage Quattro, however I cannot wear it as it destoys the bridge of my nose no matter what kind of padding or tricks I use. I need a FFM- I'm a mouth breather and my nose gets stuffed up at night, plus my pressure is too high for nasal pillows, per my Doc. But I love that quattro and wish there was a way I could make it work for me. I've been using it for nearly two years and only in the past two months have I had problems leading to 15 days off the mask for my nose to heal. After a week I'm back where I started - I mean I have to stop using it. I'm waiting for a FitLife Total Face Mask by Respironics. But if you can deal with the nose problems I recommend the quattro over the other masks I have tried (Liberty hybrid, Mojo FFM, Comfort gel full face mask, the other FFM by ResMed).
