Great post Mike. Did you hear the father say how bad it was for his daughter. He says something about how this disorder is causing his daughter to lose 1/3 of her life to sleep. Most normal people sacrifice 1/3 of their lives to sleep. Someone with this disorder might lose 50-75% of their lives to sleep during an episode. Most only wake up to go to the bathroom.
that sounds like me but not ten dayyyyysssss
Yeah. I was particularly interested in this clip because I personally know Dr. Mignon, and am a big fan of his work and purpose. When it comes to bleeding edge research in Sleep, his lab is really leading the charge.

I had not heard of him. I will keep an eye/ear out for some of his research.
he discovered the gene for narcolepsy, among other things.

I should probably pay more attention to the authors of my reading. I have read so much. It is hard to keep up.
Rock -- I feel like that last remark might have come across the wrong way online. I wasn't at all trying to make you feel bad for not knowing who this guy is. No reason you should. I just happen to have met him out in California a few times, so I feel a special connection to him.

I did not take anyway whatsoever. No need to apologize. I do not know 1/3 of the major players in sleep. My career begins with the passing of my test. I have plenty of time to learn their names.
They had a segment awhile back on Discovery Health about a boy that had this.

It was interesting and would be terrible to have.
