Another study among dozens that will show what we already know: Untreated OSA is associated with elevated glucose and insulin resistance. Cause and effect is pretty clear. Sorry to be so cynical. Instead to proving over and over again what we already know, why not apply this knowledge by increasing more awareness and educating doctors as well as lay people about the dangers of sleep apnea?

It is so nice to see a reputable physician step forward and actually pen the truth. So many of these "professionals" are just lining their pockets with more of our money in the form of a government grants.
With the possibility of having socialized medicine jammed down the throats of Americans, we are going to see every medical associated profession start positioning themselves for a bigger slice of the money pie. I am of the opinion the AARC legislation is but one of the first indicators and that this will soon be the trend.

I'm doing everything I personally can to raise awareness with this site. What we must realize is that those of us who are talking about this stuff are a very very small minority of the population. It's up to us to spread the word about the dangers of untreated sleep apnea to our friends, neighbors, colleagues and relatives.
