My allergist insists that I run a dehumidifier in my house all the time because of my allergies.
My sleep dr. says I need to use humidity on my c-pap at night.
I have severe sore throat every morning, humidity is turned all the way up,I use biotene mouthwash every night.
I don't know which way to go,totally confused. Humidity or no humidity?
Thanks!

modern houses his should have 20 changes of air per hour by design
that is windows are calculated according to floor space to achieve this
every morning when you get up open your window 5-10 minutes every day to let fresh air in and when you are about to retrier for the night do the same
uses your cpap humedifyer to go to bed
"severe sore throat"
Are you using a nasal mask? Are you mouthbreathing?
Hi Rooster,
No,I use a fitlife full mask and i really don't think that I am mouthbreathing ,I use tape to make sure that I don't.
Do you know what your room humidity is? The way to tell is with an inexpensive hygrometer, http://www.google.com/search?q=purchase ... a833fc8e14. One of the cheap ones from a pet shop is adequate but if you want something fancy looking you can find that also.
Once you determine what your room humidity is at various times of the year compare it with healthy levels. According to the Mayo
Clinic, http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/humidifiers/HQ00076
, the optimum relative humidity for the wellbeing of a house as well as the
health of its occupants is between 30 and 50% relative humidity.
Outside of this range the growth of
bacteria, fungi, viruses as well as increased chemical offgassing and ozone
production is promoted.
You say you use your CPAP humidifier on the highest setting. It is unusual to need that much supplemental humidity. Too much humidity can cause nasal congestion in some people. Some of us don't use a humidifier at all.
Healthy/Unhealthy Humidity Levels (Relative humidity %)
Gee, thanks,I do have a hygrometer,it's reading 32%at the present time.
Now I do understand why I need the dehumidifier at all times in the house.I think I did realize that before but then couldn't realize why if I needed to stay so dry all day long, why did I need humidity while sleeping?
I have tried the humidity level all the way from none to the highest level and I see no difference,I always wake up with a really bad sore throat and mouth so dry I can't move my tongue. It's so bad,and I'm concerned about developing dental problems.
Hey, thanks so much for sending me this!
GOD BLESS YOU!!
