we can help you better if you tell us: what is the exact make and model of your machine? you can find this on the user's manual.
Probably a high leak causing the Leak Alert alarm. And most likely some form of automatic shut off. Resmeds have SmartStop, I don't know what Respironics calls their automatic shut off. Just a guess.
Look in your Users Manual. There should be a section on trouble shooting and messages and what any symbols mean..
imn sorry it is a Remstar Plus and i cant find the user manual ive had the machine now for over 4 yrs, sorry i panicke dlast nite as i couldnt breath had a panic attack due to it not working , it keeps shutting off an with a high pitch whistle and a caution sign with a picture of iek a p[erspon a next to it any ideas would surely help.
Its time to take your Plus in to your DME supplier and have them check it out. The only explanations I can think of if you are using a new mask and experiencing a high leak during the night, had a recent pressure change which could also cause a high leak during the night when you change position or something - or your Plus is ailing and needs to be checked out by your DME supplier.
attached is the REMstar plus user manual. take a look at the troubleshooting section and see if anything matches up to what you're experiencing. i took a look myself and nothing seemed to match, which means Judy is probably right and it's time to bring it back to your DME. you might luck out and get a newer, better machine as a replacement.

If the time has come that you receive a new CPAP, this time insist on a fully data capable CPAP. No Respironics w/Plus in the name is fully data capable. Try for a REMStar Pro 2 (the two is IMPORTANT - and I doubt they still have a new one on their shelves) or if they have to go with the newer M Series (which means you will need a new integrated humidifier as well) you will want the M Series Pro w/C-Flex. Good luck!

thanks i am reading the manual now , but i cannot afford a new one as my warranty has run out ugh....
but the patient disconnect alert and attention signal is what is showing up so any suggestions will be much appreciated a i had to sleep last nite with out it and i will have to do the same tonite as well , so tha tmeans no sleep again....
if it's the patient disconnect alert, it can be turned off this way:

if you follow those instructions, does it solve your problem? also, are you leaving the machine on while the mask is not on your face? that may lead to the large, continuous leak the machine is alerting you to with the patient disconnect alert.

omg thanks your the best, it is all fixed now, you will never guess what it was? i am soooooo blonde lol, when i pulled it all apart to clean it i didnt snap it back together tight enough obviousley and it was leaking air, (ergo' the message for air leak lol ) that is a first, either that or its from my grandkids pulling on it, thanks so much for all your help i really really appreciate it and i have dwnlded the manual as well.

sincerely tams your all the best and life savers as well thanks for caring , as i cant live without my machine

p.s.

does anyone have any info on gettin tonselectomy, i heard that helps with sleep apnea , im 46yrs old and diagnosed with sleep apnea now for 8yrs, any help getting rid of this machine would be great. i use the pillow canula and i love it but still lol :O)
Tams, glad we could help :-) about your tonsillectomy question, i know that's it's often done in kids with great success, but that for some reason it's a more difficult and painful surgical procedure in adults. also, you'll have to get evaluated by a really good ENT experienced with sleep apnea issues to determine whether the tonsillectomy will even solve your sleep apnea problem. the obstruction might be elsewhere, so be wary of that. i'd recommend you post a separate topic on Tonsillectomy -- that way more people will help you out on this specific point.
