I have been waking up with headaches since I started my treatment. They seem to last all day. Can this be the CPAP. If so ,why.

see from your profile page that you have the RESMED VPAP AUTO 25. i'm not familiar with that machine, but we have some users of it on here who hopefully will chime in. the headaches could be caused by an inadequate pressure setting. not getting enough oxygen into your body is a common cause of headaches.

Chris, I have the immediate predecessor to the VPAP Auto 25. I have the Resmed VPAP Auto. Do you know what your pressure settings are? Do you know how to access the Efficacy Data menu? We can be of more help to you if we know what your pressure settings are and which mask you are using.
In addition to too low a pressure, a too high Leak rate will reduce your therapy. Therapy leaked out your mouth, thru your lips or due to a poor mask seal or fit, is therapy lost and not received.

Could be. I know apnea will cause people to wake up with headaches for the resons Mike mentioned. It would happen to me once in a while. But now it is bad. Must be the machine but I am not sure what to do to fix this.

I should clarify: ideally your AHI will be below 5.0 for effective therapy and the AI considerably lower than HI, like <1.0 but considering your headaches and an assumed short time on xPAP therapy your AHI isn't as bad as I expected.

Yea, the AHI is low. They said I had moderate apnea from a sleep study. Dont think 6.2 AHI would be in the moderate range.
The result infor came from the week mode. Might be one weeks average.

How can my pressure supply in settings be 4.0 and in results pressure is 12.8?

*sigh* jnk can 'xplain this so much better than I.
The Resmed bi-level's auto pressure is governed by the EPAP setting. And the range to IPAP is governed by the pressure support.
You inhalation and expiration pressures can roam anywhere between that IPAP 15, EPAP 5 setting but always w/a constant 4 cms between the two pressures.
So, if on exhaling you only needed 5 cms, the highest your inhalation pressure could go would be 9 cms due to the Pressure Support setting of 4.
The reported Pressure of 12.8 is the average or median pressure at or below which you spent 95% of the night.
