Has anyone ever gotten small electrical shocks on their tubing?

Last night I woke up at 3am like I normally wake up (not sure why but it is regular for years) and I touched my tubing and it gave me a steady current of electrical feeling that went clear up my arm to my hand. I lifted my hand up in the air not sure what it was and the feeling was still there. It "was" a electrical feeling and I shut the machine off and unplugged it too. I had to shake my arm to get rid of the feeling. I looked at the machine this morning and "normally" there is condensation build up on the humidifier container but was not any today. Perhaps it was not running long enough to build up any but I still wonder and the water level did not move at all from the night before.
Has anyone else experienced electrical surges or currents on their tubing? My mask is a nostril fitting with a metal ring that holds the nostril things on. I use a System One Respironics system with heated humidifier that was on number 3. I use a "card" in the machine. Used this for a year and a half and love it.

Today I am calling the Surgical Supply house that has it on warranty. My system is like "mint' as I care for it as I would my best friend! feedback please.

your machine is double insulated, meaning that this should not happen

you are correct to return on warranty, please include your humidifier as well as this may be a source of your problem

Thank you. Called the Surgical Supply House and they were puzzled and even connected me to their "nurse". So she is sending a technician tomorrow to look at the machine and possibly replace it. I am using a ResMed Swift FX for Her Nasal Pillows System. This system is extremely comfortable. It does have a metal "ring" to connect those pillows and I sure hope that is not the problem because this is far better for me than the regular pillows mask I used before. So comfy!  I did call my doctor's office and let them know what happened "just in case" medically important to me. I am not going to see the doctor unless there is another problem. So far only the inside of my arm at the joint is a little stingie but I do not want to start "imagining" things that could have been there before...you know what I mean? So I will see what happens tomorrow. Will get back to you on the results. Thanks for the reply.

also do you have other wires or leads like a lamp trailing over your hose

also no one is trying to electrocute you

also possibility a mini stroke

you should also have the machine PAT (Potable Appliance Test) tested

I have never had a sensation like that from my machine or the tubing.  Do you have the climate line hose?  Glad you're calling the surgical supply house.  I may not be related to the tubing,ut to the position your arm was in when you moved your arm.  Better not to take a chance, though.

The mini stroke concern hit me but I seem ok now since I took a Motrin. My arm was achie all day/. Where you would get a flu shot area mostly and felt like I had gotten one too. And radiated down the inner part of my arm especially at the elbow area. I did call my Doctor and hope the Office related the information to her. There were no wires anywhere and I have been using the same set up for a year and a half. I wonder if there was a power surge or something. I just hope it did not do damage to my muscles. I did not run to the hospital as I was not sure what happened. But will be in touch with you all.

What is a climate line hose? I will find out tomorrow. Thanks for the infor.

My Swift FX pillow does not have any metal. There is a darker plastic that attaches into the pillow. I would recheck your pillow.

An electrical shock does do muscle damage to your arm and possibly else where in your body, such as your heart. Your doctor can check you for how much muscle damage by a easy lab test. 

Something else that occurred to me- not to be alaarmist, but was this your left arm?  Women don't have typical symptoms of heart attaqcks and if you had any other symptoms that day- shortness of breath, feeling faint- I don't know...

The technician came yesterday and quickly replaced the adapter with another one. He also put a new "card" into the machine. They have all the data and they took the old card with him. The man looked at my arm and said he would make an incident report. Left me paperwork and when I told him that I was a bit frightened to use the machine, he replied quickly "don't be...use it tonight". I made certain I showed him the conditions that are present where I sleep. I have wood floors and keep the CPAP on a wooded stool lower than my bed. He left but did tell me that they will be testing the information and get back to me. ( I expect to never hear from them again)

At bedtime, I plugged it in and set it to number 3 for the humidifier like I always do and I did and noticed the following;

I had a wonderful uninterrupted sleep

Curiously the machine itself was "running' extremely quietly (which I had not noticed was becoming louder for a number of months prior.

No shocks,

Determination from this...

1-If the machine no longer is quiet, then maybe there is a problem

2-The power adapter is replacable and maybe it should have been checked a few months ago when I CALLED THEM IN OCTOBER BECAUSE I SAID THEN SOMETHING DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT AND MY MACHINE SEEMS TO BE NOT OPERATING RIGHT. 

I said that in caps so that you understand that a technician (someone else) came out and plugged it in and did a couple things and said it was fine. All she did was help me out getting a new type of face mask. I believe the problem started and she did not spot it. The machine was loud then and I told her too. Glad they have THAT on record.

3- Never fail to report the problem or at least replace your power adapter. The power adapter is important and it is an adapter for a reason. It is not a just PLUG IT INTO A SOCKET DEAL.

4- Never assume the techician is an expert. If you look into your local newspaper, you will see "THEIR" job advertised often.

5- Only YOU know what is going on with your system. I was lucky...but the machine is safe and I will trust it because I am aware and will pay attention. Will keep you up to date to any differences. And go check your machine tonight. Think about if it is at least over a year old and remember the power adapter is an adapter, they get hot and could malfunction. Take care of yourself. :)
