I am about ready to chunk the cpap machine out and say forget it. I had problems with the other one. the humidifier quit working after just 2 days, supposed to be a brand new machine.

Well, now I have swapped that one out for the f&P 600, the humidifier chamber has a rubber gasket around it. It is so difficult to separate the top and bottom, and now the gasket is pulling loose and it is wanting to leak some into the machine.

I wonder if anyone else is having this type of problem with this machine and how you are dealing with it.
Any input is greatly appreciated.  In the meantime, I am not using the machine because I don't want the water to cause damage. Will call the office tomorrow to see what they have to say about this.

Thanks......

Peggy

Good luck with your office follow up. It just doesn't sound like a well thought out machine.

IT sure doesn't does it?
the term is

Not fit for purpose
Peggy, my machine (2004) is a Remstar, the humidifier bottom on the reservoir is brushed metal with a rolled plastic bull-nosed lip that is VERY difficult to get off, you have to ease it off from one end, get your finger under it(and lose a nail) It's an amazing system that just pushes on and seals, but once I didn't have it quite pushed in *evenly*, and it leaked. If water leaks on the heating bed, it's not going into (my) machine, the only hole into the machine is where the air comes into the humidifier, so it should'nt be a problem. I just dried it off, the machine sits on the humidifier heating "platter".
It is a plastic reservoir, so it's kindof a pain to be careful taking the base on and off to clean it.

Hope this helps. G.
