First visit back to doctor after starting CPAP - visit lasted less than 5 minutes!
I am due next week for my first visit back to the doctor after starting CPAP six months ago. The doctor doesn't volunteer much information unless I ask him a question.
Any advice please on what "intelligent" questions to ask him would be appreciated!

do you have a dry mouth then ask for a humidifer or script for a humidifer
also a script for the softwear for your machine and any little bits for it including the clinicians manual
photocopy your script and guard the original, only use photocopies of your script for any of your needs
also ask for print outs of sleep studies done including condesed notes and graphs

First questions for you, how well is your therapy working?
Do you have a data-capable machine with software to monitor apneas, hypopneas, snores, pressure, mask leaks, etc. throughout the night?

I agree with Rooster, it would be good to go into that first meeting knowing how well (how many apneas and hypopneas) your therapy is working. If you're feeling better and your numbers are good you can tell the doctor what you know and see if he concurs. If you're having any problems write them down to stay on track and discuss them with the doctor. 99 is right- it's good to have copies of your scripts and sleep studies.
How are you feling overall?
Can you check your own data? Again, questions for you.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.
Goodness help me if I had not been looking at my own data (which has AHI usually under 0.5 at pressures from 8-18). The Doctor looked at the data (he didn't know that I had printed it out for him as in Aust you usually need to go to the equipment supplier to get a data report) said everything looked good and to come back and see him in 3 YEARS!
I don't know whether to be really pleased or really annoyed. The visit lasted less than 5 minutes and it was the first time I had seen hime since starting CPAP 6 months ago - maybe it is just Australian doctors.
I should have asked for a copy of the original sleep report but was too stunned to think about it. It would probably just have made me very depressed as he originally told me I had approx 100 OA per hour.
Luckily I seem to learn so much from the contributors to this forum that there was really nothing to ask the doctor.
