Wow I'm somewhere going on 2 months on CPAP and I have never felt better. I have more energy than I have had in a very long time. I am STILL waiting on my new FitLife mask. This coming week will be the 3rd week that it has been since my order was put in for it. I did find an inexpensive way to help with the forehead pain I was getting from the quattro. I took a sock that didn't have a mate and cut the toe part off. I then cut two small slits on either side and Voilà. I just slip it over the top of the mask and place the forehead support through the holes that were cut in the side. I still get some pressure pain, but I have reduced the skin breakdown considerably. The only place that I get it now, and it is not bad at all is on the bridge of my nose.I just got my data card read yesterday and I did notice that there must have been a glitch with my card. It shows days without device as being 1. I NEVER EVER sleep without it. Anyone else had that happen before? Other than that my numbers look good from what the DME says. my AHI went from I think 3. something down to 2.4, and I have gone from averaging 5 hours a night on the machine to almost 8 hours a night, and the average time in large leak per day is 0...YAY!! I will say that when I first started CPAP that it was going to be a horrible thing that I would have to do for the rest of my life. I have since learned that being diagnosed and properly treated is the BEST thing that I have done for myself...

I'm at the beginning of my journey meeting with RT for first time on Monday. Thanks for posting your story. I found it uplifting :-)
I'm excited for you, Christine!! I remember when...!

I just got a new full face mask yesterday due to HUGE mouth leakage. I liked my last mask, a lot. It didn't leak at all but my mouth did. (There are those who would say my mouth leaks all the time anyway!!!).

Last night I slept much better--up to then, I'd begun to drop down from 5-6 hours to 4-5. My DME took one look at my printout and said "Well, this explains why you're not sleeping". Plus my water vessel was running out of H20 after 5 hours of sleep. DME said it's because of all the air blowing out of my mouth and the machine trying to compensate by overworking. Last night, after 7 hours' sleep, the water thing was still half full!!!

My leak #'s were in the 65 range!!!!! Good grief, no wonder I haven't been able to bank any energy points despite 100% compliance for a long, long time now. Looking forward to going to bed tonight to see if I can repeat the performance!!

Susan McCord :-)

I love my DME. I wish everybody had one as good as he is.......
THAT'S GREAT, CHRISTINE. We're behind you! About ur sock thing, there is foam packaging that comes with new computers, and other electronics, it's black, sometimes white, SAVE IT! Ask a computer geek for some. They slide it in glued to cardboard, sometimes it's a framing, no cardboard. I took the sharpest steak knife from the kitchen, not the serratted ones, the sharpenable ones (box cutters too small) and sliced a wedge for my heal, since I run, and needed padding on the heal, then round the edges with sizzors, BINGO, and you can replace it any time, this might work on your forehead pressure-point, the stuff is great. Not standard shoe cussions from RiteAid, and not high density, it's in between.
Keep us informed on your progress.
I am very happy for you. Christine you have put a lot of effort into this.
Good for you Christine
