came across this article and it seemed a little too calculating on the part of the dentists:

My dentist is very knowlegable about sleep medicine, but he doesn't seem to sell any appliances. He screens people for sleep apnea and educates people about sleep apnea; he also seems to be much more knowlegable about fibromyalgia than my rheumatologist.

I have had an MMA and some other related work done and (with my consent) my dentist had a paper print made of a Panorex radiograph that shows all of the wires and other hardware in my jaws. He has it hung next to his Panorex apparatus.
It was most interesting to see the money figure included w/most of the comments. I think that told quite a bit about that particular dentist. I wonder if the Illinois dentist most of whose patients come from Ihatecpap.com also happens to post to that forum on occasion??

W/GM and Chrysler employees losing their vision and dental insurance benefits I'm sure MANY dentists are going to be taking a stringent look at their bottom line and leaner times are ahead for them.
Interesting article.

It seems that $$$ is an important i$$ue here.
