How long does it take for most people before they notice big improvements with CPAP or smiliar treatments?

I am just curious because my doctor and others told me that I would notice immediate results, which really sold me on the idea with CPAP.  So here I am just over a week on CPAP and I havent noticed any diffferance except for maybe not snoring.  In fact, I have felt on most days just as tired or more tired then with out CPAP. I am sure I just need to give it more time but just curious to how long.

Thanks,

Jason

Yeah that is what I was thinking as well. Could be that my body has been deprived of adequate sleep for so long that my body as adjusted to not having enough sleep. Now my body is having to readjust and heal itself from years of damage and that takes time.

Yeah I am not sure if my machine provides those results I will have to check with my doc.
even if you do not feel the results there is a healling process going on, and ultimatly keeping you alive
it may take a lot of time to see the results
my first result was i started to dream because of the cpap something i had not done for years, i am still tired and exhausted but i least i dream which is a sign of improvement
Hi all,

This is my second night with my cpap. I am having trouble with the nasal pillows leaking due to the straps sliding off my head. My hair is very soft and I have been waking up several times to slide the mask back in place so it does not leak.
I am hoping this works for me.

Linda
Jason, What does your data say? Number of apneas, hypopneas, snores? Mask leak data?

Running the machine and wearing the mask is no guarantee that the therapy is working properly.

Linda- perhaps it would be helpful if you start a new topic thread. I don't think anyone saw this on straps slipping for women especially.
My wife puts a pony tail in her hair to hold the chin strap, that holds her nasal aire 11 on.

thank you, the chin strap is not helping, I will look into a papcap

A PapCap may help with the slipping straps thing, even though it is designed to anchor a chin strap.
I just got a hair cut no pony tail for me :(

Yeah I dont know where to get this data from my machine? I have the user manaul and I dont see anything where you can get data from the machine? I have a Sleep Style 600 by Fisher and Paykel not a Dirt Devil.
