Hello

Recently having been told I have sleep apnea I have had a hard time actually getting the CPAP machine delivered through my insurance company.

Thankfully Mike Goldman spoke with me on the phone the other day and now the process is starting over again. I will keep you all posted!!

Good luck, Jay. Glad you are finally getting your machine. Please keep us posted and feel free to ask any questions you have about getting started.
don't assume the process is on track. I'd check back with the medical equipment company in a day or two to make sure they're following through as you expect.
m goldman thats mike goldman the very good person who set up sleep guide

Mike Goldman is a very dedicated man devoted to his terrific foundation - Manhattan A.W.A.K.E. @manhattanawake.org.

So after a few days the medical supplier, Arcadian, called to let me know this is processing. Have not heard anything about cost or direction but it seems underway.

Thank you to everyone here who commented thus far.
lol

Brett, you sure aren't kidding about the DME provider sending us off!!!!

Well, there are a few good local DME providers around - but - so many do just "fit" us (if you can call some of their mask fittings "fits") and then send us out the door, to be heard from w/in 30 days for compliance data and then never to be heard from again - unless we "bug" them. For those types "see you, fit you, and send off" is pretty apropos - ooops, there are those who don't even "see you, fit you" now that I think of it. I've read of those of us who just had their equipment, including the PAP, drop shipped to their door w/written instructions. Nice, eh?
Thanks you for the post.

Today I was contacted by Arcadian, the medical equipment supplier and they want to deliver the equipment next week. My insurance (a PPO) will pay half. So my charges will be: $205.00 upfront and then $33.00 per month until 10 months at which point I own the machine.
I was told I would be trying the Fischer and Paykel HC407 which my physician recommended for me. Anyone try this version?
The HC 407 is a nasal cushion mask. Its a very common one for sleep labs and local DME providers to provide to patients.
Jay -- how satisfied are you with this result?

So far Mike I am happy that things are actually moving along, though I do think it feels a little like no man's land between the physician to the distributor. I am sure it will work out but if there is one place for someone to find opportunity to hand hold it would be up until I find the right mask, machine, routine etc. Does that make sense?
