Hi Carol--are you satisfied with your doctor's decisions on your behalf? If not, do you have any options for a second opinion? Might be helpful to have a new set of eyes look at your situation, if you haven't already. I can see why you'd be frustrated....11 years is a long time and I guess we're all hoping that there will stability down the road. That may be a bigger hope than some of us realize at this point.

Hang in there. I'm happy to hear from you. I'm gonna send you a friend request--respond as you wish, but I'll be paying attention to how you're doing regardless..Hang in there.....

it is not so much the length of the sleep you get, but the quality. After a week, I had more energy. I even began to lose weight. Sleep is a wonderful thing.

But time goes by, the energy slipped away the weight came back. They increased my pressure. It has been 11 years. I feel now like I am sucking the air through the hose and they say everything is fine.
Hi Christine!! Where did you get that pillow? I think that would help me too, but I have no clue where to go.. didn't know there was such a thing. Thanks for the info in advance and congratulations on a GREAT sleep night!!

I did really well last night with my sleep. I went to bed around 10:15 and didnt wake up until sometime around 6:30 this morning. I did wake up twice with mask leaks. I checked the stats on my machine and it shows that I have 39 minutes of leak time. Most of that is from the mask they gave to replace the Mirage Quattro. I am now back on my initial mask and it doesnt leak like the second mask.
Also, I am a sleep walker. I have not had any sleep walking episodes since I have been on the CPAP. I don't know if it has anything to do with that, either way I'm stoked about that. Nothing worse than waking up in the kitchen rummaging through the cabinets.
Ohhhh I almost forgot I got my BreathEzy CPAP pillow yesterday and I LOVE it..I think that was a major factor in me sleeping as long as I did last night. For those "newbies" that are thinking about getting one, it is my personal opinion that they are worth it. At least it was for me.
susan, haven't heard of that particular pillow, but would recommend the oxygen pillow to anyone wearing a cpap mask. it's the one i personally use, and carry at the sponsor store for the site, ApneaLife.com.

Dee, I don't know how I missed your question. I'm sorry. The video is on SG, titled "Hard to Watch", per Mike. Just a heads up: it shows several very long minutes of a guy with severe sleep apnea--it IS hard to watch. He was in denial that he had apnea and they videotaped him so he could see what was happening to him while he thought he was just "sleeping". I'm diagnosed severe too, and when I saw that, after I finally stopped crying, I decided no way, no how was I ever gonna sleep without my mask again. THAT was the decision-maker for me. No going back now. It's well worth watching, but difficult, at least it was for me. I'd be interested in hearing how YOU see it from your perspective if you decide to watch it.

What video are you talking about, Susan? I've only had a couple of 8 hour nights since I started (first on cpap then on bipap) in March, but even when I only get 5 or 6 hours sleep, I still don't get drowsy and have to take a nap during the day. It has changed my life dramatically. I hope you'll continue to reap the benefits of a decent night's sleep!
