They can help some. I've been known to wear one when my husband had them on hand. I find I do breathe even better when wearing them, even if not fully stopped up. If they were cheaper I'd wear them every night!

Other stuffy nose remedies I use are:
-nasal irrigation (don't use hot water, I think that makes the swelling worse. use lukewarm)
-saline spray
-ayr gel (has some menthol or something in it that sometimes helps. Feels good too.
-if it's stuffed on one side, I can usually lie with that side up and it will open up for me after using one or more of the above things.
-if all else fails, then I resort to a single spray of afrin in the stuffed side (I'm usually always having trouble with only one side at a time). If one spray doesn't work after a minute or two I'll add the second spray. It works, but I HATE using it. The rebound from even using it once is barely worth it. But I use a nasal pillow mask and if I can't breathe thru my nose I'm screwed for the night. Seriously considering collecting a full face for just this issue.
