So glad you had a good night YEA! Hang in there, it does get better, sometimes la little later rather than sooner.
I broke my ankle 3 weeks ago and have been wearing a big ole black boot on my right leg. Well, I have to DRIVE to work each day and I need my foot to drive. At the beginning I would take my leg out of the boot and wear my husband's right shoe with a wrap to drive. That was a bunch of work to do each time I got in and out of the car. So I learned how to drive with the boot on using both feet. The right foot to brake. I am amazed what a short time it took to learn to drive that way safely. At first I couldn't even use my left foot to brake. Anything new takes time before it becomes automatic, no matter what it is. :>D You are well on your way to becoming an honest to goodness HOSE-HEAD. :>D
That "hose-head" thing cracks me up, Bee!!
God, I'd be in the ditch if I had to drive that way!!! The old coordination ain't everything it used to be.....
I'm ready to go back to bed!! Think I will!

Ahhh! Great. May the improvment and acclimation continue! Oh heck, yeah, you CAN do this, Susan McCord! WE have faith in you and are here to help you over the humps.
Heck, Bee, you can learn to both brake and use the accelerator w/your left foot in no time if you set your mind to it! Heck, I learned to sit in the passenger seat, just off the passenger door, and use both brake and gas pedal w/my left foot, plus steer w/my left arm while delivering mail and did so for some 20+ years. I've never understood WHY our newspaper deliveryman insists on driving on the left and either driving down the left side of the road when no traffic or swerving from right side to left side to deliver newspapers. Why not just reverse the delivery sequence and drive from the right like most of us rural letter carriers do?? It would be a heck of a whole lot safer!!!
What helped with the congestion?
That's great that you increased usage by another couple hours!
Jason
Hi Jason--Well, I've definitely still got the congestion. It's just not so intense that I can hardly bear it like it was. Don't know exactly about the improvement--what I DO know is that I had to get a new machine about a week ago--the first one was great till it malfunctioned, so I got a whole new setup, same model. I found out a couple of days later that the heating element on it doesn't heat, or if it does, it's not noticeable like it was on the other humidifier. The plate was warm in the a.m. but not hot like usual. Congestion continued. It also makes a whistle/whine kind fo noise which is annoying. And the ramp's not on which really doesn't matter. Anyway, I haven't called DME yet--not sure why. But night before last and last night I turned the humidity on 4 and it was cold, but I thought what the hell, nothing's working anyway. So I've left it there for two nights now. Yesterday, the congestion seemed a nano-bit better, but was still pretty ugly. Today, it's another nano better, still uncomfortable but definitely improved. AND I slept 6 hours straight without my usual bathroom trip at 4 a.m. About 4 hours after I got up, which was 7 a.m., I got so sleepy I could hardly stand it. Thought I'd go to sleep in my chair but didn't. Now I'm not sleepy but really, really tired. Don't know what's up with that. Head remains stuffy but the hard sneezing is at a minimum and I can at least tolerate the congestion which is helpful to my psyche!!! To say nothing of my attitude!! I'm just hoping it continues to work--if so, maybe I'll start feeling ready to celebrate by then. I'm kinda scared to put too much hope into this right now. I'm just feeling a tiny bit more optimistic...thanks for your follow-up!
