Another "Fix" Or Two
The mention of Mack's Silicone Ear Plugs for mask leaks made me think of another "home fix". This one for mouth leaks.
Until you are sure a chin strap will do the trick for you or until you can buy a chin strap, just cut the leg off a pair of panty hose tights, cup you chin in the center of the length and tie the ends above your head.
I'm sure you've heard of those who "tape" their mouths shut to prevent mouth leaks. A more comfortable, less shocking, drastic measure for "the lip flutters" is to spread a thin layer of PoliGrip Denture Gel the full length of your lips, press your lips together and you are good to go. If you need to open your mouth you can easily and comfortably do so. To re-seal your lips, just moisten w/your tongue and press together again. If you are a serious mouth breather this isn't sufficient but if it is just the "lip flutters" its pretty darn effective. Some use the PoliDent Denture Strips instead which again are easy to open your mouth if necessary. PoliGrip is safe to use. After all its made to be used IN your mouth.

Hey Judy! Are lip flutters when you're on PAP and every little bit puffs of air come out of your mouth? I've been having that and I find it alternately funny and curious. It was gonna be my next Discussion question.. If that's not what lip flutters means, what does it mean. And what are these little lip farts (sorry, but that's exactly what they are!) I'm having. I don't think it happens when I'm asleep but maybe my mouth is open then. Why does that happen????

I am traveling and left my chin-strap at home. Woke up with dry mouth this morning. So this is a timely post for me. Time to head off to K-Mart and get some panty hose. Will probably get some odd looks from the cashier. Never bought panty hose before. . . honest ;-)
