Mike's working on an interesting SleepGuide site that would be a referral resource for new apnea patients who come to SG for support and info. And possibly to some existing SG members as well.
It will be a directory of sorts to guide people in finding a sleep doctor if, in fact, they don't have one. (This was a particularly troublesome problem I faced for some time this summer. I know others on here have struggled with it as well).
In order to set up the site, he needs SG members who are willing and able to participate in testing entry into the new site so they can work the bugs out of it.
You won't be graded and he can't ground you!!! lol
It's not hard to do and if you encounter any problems, that's what they need to know!! You don't have to worry about making a mistake. If it's hard for YOU, it will be hard for new people. Mike's trying to simplify it so anyone who's sleep-starved and having trouble thinking straight (we've all been there!) can navigate into this sleep MD resource page without difficulty.
Could be a real blessing--finding a sleep MD isn't always easy, as some of us well know.
So if you'd like to give back to others, please contact Mike and he'll set you up. It's called the Beta Project. I promise, it won't drive you nuts!, and it's an opportunity to make a difference to fellow apnea patients at a time they most need help.

Thanks for posting this Susan. I have had been playing around with this since Mike started the project.
Please help Mike out by volunteering your time to help build the data base. At this point, I am unsure where he is at on testing the site, but with so much territory to cover it will be impossible for one person, or even a small group to input all the information. I live in a rural community and was trying to do google searches to find DME's and such, but then I am not sure if that particular information is update when done by googling. It would be ideal for those that actually have the updated information for their own community to input the data.
It should be a really useful site, once up and running. Mike has went above and beyond to try to provide the much needed assistance for those of us suffering from sleep apnea and the related consequences of it.

Hi Brian! Not as far as I've ever heard. This is SleepGuide which is administrated by Michael Goldman and The SleepGuide Crew.
I'm not familiar with the site you're talking about.
Have you just checked SleepGuide out for the first time? If so, welcome!! It's a great place to be. Tons of info and support for sleep apnea patients. Lots of people on site, both sleep professionals and apnea patients.
Do you have apnea? Sorry to be throwing all these questions at you...!

Okay, Brian, I checked that website. Interesting. Glad to see it. I think SG's will be a little more comprehensive with more information re: specific sleep MDs, but it's all in the baby stages at this point.
If you'd like to see what Mike's doing, and participate in the development (which is fun!), you can send Mike a private message from his SG Page, and he'll fill you in on what's happening. If you want to help us do some problem-solving by testing out the fledgling site yourself, and reporting back to Mike, that would be GREAT!
