My mask has no forehead pad. The Quattro FX air release is right under the eyes and tends to blow up.
Many of those using this mask have this problem with air rushing in the eyes. I keep using this mask because it feels good on and does not give me a closed in feeling. Having worked in engineering I realized this design error and fixed it with the cardboard. It works and directs the air out away from the eyes.
I went through this when the air vents in my FP 431 were shooting air into my eyes; it wasn't from mask leaks per se. I finally threaded a strip of fleece though the nose piece and head straps. That kept the air out of my eyes. Then I tried RemZzz which got rid of that problem plus the red mask marks.
Finally, I got a Quattro FX three weeks ago - the one with no forehead brace - and it didn't leak at all or shoot air into my eyes! I didn't think it would work but it did for me. It has to be set lower than you'd think, that's all.
It's really a matter of finding a mask that fits. Incidentally, the old Mirage Quattro was awful for me, but it was my first mask, so maybe it was just me floundering around with no real fitting help.
I'm going to try this Quietus Liner. I keep repositioning my Quatro FX to stop leaking, but it always starts again in the middle of the night since it moves around when I lay sideways. Anyway, I hope these liners work. Thanks for the tip.
My mask is a "small". So I think the size is okay, although I really don't have anything to compare it to. I would think that leaking, when it comes to mask size, would be a result of a mask that is too big. Since my is small and fits tightly I don't think that's the problem. But who knows. I will try those liners and see what happens...

They do help but mine did not do well until last night when I tried the small head gear. Is your mask the correct size for you? And the head gear also?

It is also quite amazing what a good soap and water cleaning does for improving the seal of the mask.
I do admit to making the mask very tight to avoid leaking which has resulted in a bit of pressure acne and resultant sores and such at the back of my head (ouch)
Mine last about 5 days. I put one on Saturday and it is still fine to use more. One batch I ordered did not have as much tacking agent so I told him and he put a little extra on my last order. It makes wearing the mask much more comfortable. Don't think I could do it without them now.He has always been very prompt in shipping them too. So I order extra just to make sure I don't run out.
Ginny, I am so glad you told me about these. I just placed my 2nd order. They are putting more tacking agent on as well and they suggest I try washing in Woolite. I have not been able to reuse after washing. The fit is so much better and marks are few.
