I was told that www.nomask.com is running a bunch of ads on FOX News. Anyone have any experience with this mask? Is it effective, or just a gimmick?

Over at cpaptalk there are a bunch of threads about this mask. Very, very few good comments about it.
I do not have personal knowledge on it, but wouldn't waste my money on it due to the responses there.

To me it looks like a cheap imitation of combination therapy.
A combination therapy is an oral appliance combined with nasal pillows. The idea is very good, because an oral appliance can reduce the required CPAP pressure (or perhaps even remove the obstructions).

The problem with these appliances is that they are extremely expensive. A good oral appliance made especially for you by a dentist will cost about $2500. A combination appliance will be even more expensive.
So I think you can compare this CpapPro with a 'boil and bite' appliance you can buy anywhere for around $50. This appliance may be good to try before you finally decide if you want a specially adapted oral appliance.

BTW.
If you try an oral appliance or this CpapPro appliance, it is important that you have an APAP so you can make a self-titration.
If you reduce the lowest pressure then you can see if there is any effect at both AHI and the mean pressure.

The CpapPro interface is only a nasal interface and it is not a combination therapy. The mouthpiece is only to hold the nasal interface in place instead of the usual headgear. The mouthpiece on the CpapPro does not provide any advancement of the mandible.
For the life of me, I can't see why someone would prefer to have a device in their mouth all night instead of straps on their head.

It was not clear that this device doesn’t provide any advancement of the mandible, but it was clear from the article that the mouthpiece was a "boile and bite" unit.
Actually it is a pity that it is not such a unit, since it could encourage the use of a professional combination appliance.
If my last surgery had not worked, I had decided this combination appliance.

I like this piece of advice: to make sure you have a data-ready APAP so that you can put any oral appliance to the test. one of the big drawbacks to oral appliances from my perspective is lack of data/feedback on how well it's working. this is a good make-shift solution.
