I can't believe in this day and age the only true help available, besides surgery is the cpap... Technology right out of the dark ages...

I did the sleep over at the clinic, was given a cpap and have tried it countless times over the last three years only to remove after hours of sleeplessness or wake up minutes after falling asleep with it having been ripped off my face in my sleep.

That being said I have a cpap machine that's virtually brand new if anyone wants it...

I am looking for alternative, holistic preferred, methods for dealing with apnea, please help...

There is speech therapy or singing lessons which have been been noted to have some beneficial effects, the only problem is they don't know which particular exercises are helpful. Playing the digeridoo is supposed to be helpful. Also, you might try an oral device from a certified dentist.

I'm sure you'll find someone who can use your CPAP machine. If you'll post the details- make, model, etc. I'm sure you'll find a taker. Very generous of you, Todd

I must disagree with you about cpap technology being technically old. I appreciate that it can be challenging to adjust to and even seem like torture sometimes, but as far as holistic options, it is really a good choice. It does not require any chemicals be added to your body, nor any physical or surgical modifications. Well managed CPAP allows your body to work the way it is supposed to, providing a little needed physical help. It does require understanding, extra work and time to manage the hygiene of it, and patience with yourself to learn to relax with it on (not to mention potential mask problems). It is also a therapy that you can mostly manage your self, at home, most of the time. Emotionally, it can take some time getting used to accepting and managing as a chronic health issue, but Sleep Apnea is well worth managing to prevent much more serious health issues. I hope you'll reconsider working on a way to work with some type of therapy. Most other options are discussed at length on various threads here, so look around and ask questions. May you find a balance that works for you.
