Do you have Mild Sleep Apnea, Moderate Sleep Apnea or Severe Sleep Apnea?
Mild Sleep Apnea = AHI between 5 and 15
Moderate Sleep Apnea = AHI between 15 and 30
Severe Sleep Apnea = AHI > 30

Hi, Belinda. The medical standard is an AHI of 30 or above is considered severe. I don't think it differs from country to country.

Mine is 32 episodes per hour which puts me in the severe I guess, although my sleep doc told me I was in the high moderate so I am confused now, maybe the scale changes from US to Canada???? Can anyone give me clarification on this???
AHI was 62-Severe
I'm mild. My hubby, who is on here, but probably won't answer is moderate.
Moderate for me. If you have a BIPAP machine as opposed to a CPAP does that mean your worse?
Don't know yet but I'm doing my sleep study tomorrow and I'm hoping I'll get the results quickly and be able to refer to your chart and reply to this properly

-Elissa-
severe 60 AHI
My husband and I are both severe.
Mild 12 episodes per hour. I am talking to my husband about getting tested. He is resistant however.
severe AHI 55
Mine would be high moderate (27.5 AHI).
your on the line. Yours could be considered high moderate just as easy as beeasleep's could be considered low severe or vice versa. These are just AASM and medicare guidelines. The call belongs to the interpreting doc.
