A DME is a durable medical equipment provider. It is the ones that typically you go see to get your cpap, supplies, and masks.

Sometimes though sleep labs will have the stuff there and you can pick it there.

How is things going? I was wondering if you were doing any better. If you can tell us a little more about what type of problems you are having maybe we could help.

Ask your primary care doctor if he would okay a script and write one for an overnight oximeter. It is a small thimble shaped device that fits on the end of one finger similar to what they use in the hospitals (I haven't used one but did inquire and plan on doing one in the near future). You pick it up at the DME and return it the next day. The DME will download the info and send it to your doctor. Be sure to request a copy of it for your files.

Do you have any idea which masks you use (the name)? How old are your masks? If I know which masks I maybe able to find some fixes to help with the leaks. There are strap covers that you can purchase that are very reasonably priced at www.padacheek.com. You will need the name of your mask and she makes little fleece covers to go over the headgear straps. Sure helps with the marks.

Would you doctor consider having you do an overnight oximeter test to see if your oxygen levels are staying up? It is cheaper than a sleep study and your primary care physician should be able to provide a script for it.
