Yes I do think the cpap will help alot! Has your doctor ever done a pulse oximetry on you overnite or rest, exertion since you seems to be on alot of respiratory meds? What about a nebulizer in lieu of all the inhalers? The pulse ox is a clip like device that the dr puts on your finger to check and see what your oxygen levels are? People with COPD often desaturate and will be supplimented with oxygen along with their cpap or bipap. I do work in the respiratory field. I work at a oxygen/respiratory company and we have resp therapists on staff. Not only am I a wearer, but I deal with people in the same situation every day. I am always going to seminars and different training seminars and am pretty up to date with all the "latest" equipment. I try every mask and machine that comes thru our office and do a report on each one for the representatives/managers and therapists so they are aware of likes and dislikes from a "wearers" point of view. Hi How are you? The cpap will most certainly work. I have been wearing a cpap for 14 years and couldnt live without it. I also work for an Oxygen/Respiratory company and deal with sleep apnea on a daily basis. It will improve your energy level, your memory. You will def sleep better, but it does take time to adjust to wearing the cpap mask and using the machine. If you have copd it will def help with that also. They have so man y new machines on the market and with certain insurance they want the patient to be as compliant as they can, so they offer data capaqble machine such as a cpap with a smart card or smart stick or ambient tracking so they can pull your data and see how you are doing with the machine ans also if tyou are wearing it. Try not to go into getting the cpap with any negative thoughts. It is a big adjustment and does take time to get accustomed to everything.
