My Interest in Sleep Apnea
Someone I care about may have Sleep Apnea
Treatment Being Used, if any
No treatment
If Machine Being Used, What Type? (e.g., Respironics M Series with A-Flex Auto-Adjusting CPAP)
my daughter had been diagnosed with bechet's syndrome, now they say perhaps lupus...rare for 7..in NIH program. has narrow palate, large tonsils, snores, apnea episodes. I believe this may be affecting stress to her system, causing changes in the endochrine system which is manifesting in her lungs and sores on her body. recently they changed diagnosis because of sun sensitivity and the appearence of sores, does not go with bechet's.
If Mask Being Used, What Type? (e.g., ResMed Activa Nasal Mask)
i have suggested a palatal expansion on her bilateral primary molars to widen arch, remove the tonsils and see if perhaps with better sleep the other things improve. they have found things in her lungs they are not treating her for because no symptioms yet. the bottom line is they don't really know, change diagnosis and I am beginning to believe it might be related to the apnea discussed above.

Denis, welcome to SleepGuide. Sorry to hear about your daughter's troubles. I know someone with Beshet's, it's a tough disease by itslef without so much other stuff going on.
