A couple of years at a community college will get you to Respiratory Therapist here in Norfolk, VA.

Glad to have a new friend. Wish I knew more (or remembered more of what I was told) about how to get into the field. Do you have some qualifications? The hospital where I had my first sleep test had nurses reading the polysomnograms, I don't know where they learned how to read them.

Roxanne, we discussed this at lenght a long time ago as I was interested in getting into the field myself. I would post thjis as a new discusssion and see what answers you get. I do remember their is an accrediting body and there were not any accredited schools in my area. One way in would be to take a course on reading polysomnograms- you could check at local community colleges, or through being and RT (respiratory therapist) which I'm told is kind of coming in through the back door. There are some classes available on line, but most required a practticum at a neighboring facility. Wish I could be of more help. Perhaps just putting in applications at sleep centers for OJT.
