Same with me, Lawanda!! I had no clue how many people have apnea--and when you think about how many are still running around undiagnosed, it's pretty startling. We're the lucky ones, despite our periodic grumbling.

I'm so glad you found out in time before you really got hurt. It's scary. I had a wreck before I was diagnosed--drove right into oncoming traffic for no reason whatsoever--familiar corner--didn't know a thing till I actually got hit. Thank God, no one was injured. I never could figure out how that happened. I'm a really good, careful driver by history. My sleep doctor's the one who said, after hearing the story of how it happened, said, "You were asleep". I was totally shocked. It had never occurred to me. Like you, I didn't drive after I was diagnosed in June 2009. I'm just now starting to drive some outside of town.

It's a bear to manage, but there's light at the end of the tunnel. There was a time I couldn't imagine even putting that mask on, much less sleeping with it. Now it's just about like brushing my teeth. Amazing what time and a lot of support (which I got from SG) will do for a person.

Glad to hear from you!

HI Sistah! I did not know that!

I just was diagnosed a few weeks ago. I go in for my second sleep study and to get my cpap on Monday. I changed doctors and went in to talk to her about my depression. I wanted her to change it because, here I have everything I ever wanted, and I was struggling with every aspect in life. She referred me to a sleep specialist in the city. Which mask are you using, and did you have problems getting adjusted to it? How is Petey doing? We really need to get together soon! Its been way too long! Check your email later, I will send you updated pictures of the kids... and the newest member of the family!

Take Care!
Janey

Hi Lawanda!! Welcome to SleepGuide!! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of support and info you'll find here. I was diagnosed in June '09 and if it weren't for SG I don't know how in the world I've have made it into treatment and stayed there. Lots of strong, caring people here. We're happy to have you!!

Susan McCord :-)
