Hi Larry--welcome to Sleep Guide! I, for one, am VERY pleased to have a dental professional on SleepGuide. Part of the problem with communication stems, I think, from lack of information from responsible sleep pros, both MDs and DDSs--people are nervous about things they don't understand and there's a lot of +- press out there on both sides. As a newly-diagnosed OSA patient (6/09), and now FINALLY having some better results from CPAP tx, I appreciate the confusion associated with how to go about the decision re: treatment.

As far as I know, we've had NO specialist like you on here before--we NEED you!! People struggle so with this disease, myself included, on many levels, and controversy should not have to be part of that struggle. The best solution to controversy, in my experience, is information that leads to folks having the tools to make an informed decision re: what questions to ask and what kind of tx may be best for each individual. It's touchy sometimes!!, as you obviously know.

I'm so glad you're on SG, and I hope you'll be actively involved in Discussions as they arise.
