My Interest in Sleep Apnea
I have Sleep Apnea
Treatment Being Used, if any
I don't know
If Machine Being Used, What Type? (e.g., Respironics M Series with A-Flex Auto-Adjusting CPAP)
Not sure yet, just went for my second sleep study. First one told, they told me I have Sleep Apnea, and this second one was to figure out what mask I'll be using and the settings for the machine. I should be hearing the results from this second sleep study in 7-10 days the tech said.

And as a note on the masks, both of them made me panic and gave me the feeling of being smothered. I felt as if I was fighting for breath with both masks.

Hi, Brian, Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress. The mask is probably the achilles heel of CPAP treatment. There are lots out there, something like the nasal pillows might keep you from feeling smothered. Also talk to your DME, sleep tech or sleep dr about the problem. They may be able to make some adjustments to your machine settings or some suggestions as to using ramp or settleing to ease you into full pressure.
Again, good luck, keep us posted.
