Thank you for posting this Zollistar. Have you tried something like this with your sleep maintenance insomnia? Relaxing, meditating, reading, or writing during your awake times?
I'm always amazed that I go to sleep again quite easily after waking to use the bathroom. I feel "up", but go back to sleep immediately.
I kinda have used this. The key is to avoid turning on lights. I've actually turned on...candles!
Candles make me nervous, however. One could, after all, fall asleep and.....
Actually, I may get one of those big glass things that one uses with candles. Still, I'm not so sure I totally trust my cats. Who knows what they may want to investigate?
Yes, you're right about candles being dangerous. The big glass things are called hurricane shades. I'm like you, Zollistar, I'd be afraid the cats would get curious. Maybe they make some cat proof candles. In fact you know those heavy iron cages shaped like a pagoda or some other shape? They're much too heavy for a cat to turn over. Or you could get some low watt electric candles and use a small timer.
I like the idea of the heavy iron cage-like shades. Good thought!
I have a Verilux Rise and Shine Natural Wake-Up Light. I prefer the flicker of candlelight, however. I also think it's a different "kind" of light. After all, it's not artificial.
