Is my weigh gain the major factor in my having sleep apnea? I got clean and sober in january of 1989 and I have been steady putting on weight. Today I am 5-11 and weight about 300 lbs. If i got back down to to 210 my weight when I was 29 would my sleep apnea go away? Are there any studies in regards to weight and sleep apnea? Sure seems as if life is about dealing with one health or lifestyle issue. Then having to deal with another as a result that change. As they say in AA it's one day at a time and first things first thing.

As of now I have no other health issues but for my weight and sleep apnea. Neither inferrs with my life or livelihood. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse I tend to like being on the heavy side. Just feels safer, Yes I am dealing with this issue. As with everything there usually is multiple reasons for everything.
