i think Rock has gotten a bit of grief for advocating some caution before patients go ahead and adjust their own settings, but i wanted to point out this old post of his, in which he links to places on the Internet showing how patients can go ahead and adjust their own settings.
Well, he is right. I've seen many times where a newbie had learned enough to insist on a fully data capable xPAP and as soon as they get it they can't wait to start playing w/their new toy before the understand what they are doing or have any reason for why except that they have this new toy and they CAN.

A little studying, a lttle experince and CPAPs aren't that difficult to understand and just require PATIENCE when you make a change. But the bi-levels and others can get a ltitle tricky.

I have no problem telling ANY newbie w/a Resmed how to access their Efficacy Data. You can't alter your therapy settings from that menu. HOWEVER, I take my time and watch a few of their posts before I will share w/them how to access the Clincians Menu and I ALWAYS CAUTION THEM to be sure to have a pen and paper handy and to write down what pops up on each screen BEFORE they make any changes or move on to the next screen so that if they accidentally or intentionally change their therapy settings they will KNOW what those settings were. Some I won't advise how to access the Clinician's Menu for quite some time if at all. When I do advise someone how to access the Clinicians Menu I always do so via PM or private e-mail.
