Christine posted her question by accident to the wrong section:

What type of water is to be used in the cpap/humidfier machine?  Tap water, distilled or bottled water?  I was never told what type of water in my machine.  What do we use to clean up machine?

i was told to use distilled water
I was told to use distilled water, too.  However I use RO water (reverse osmosis) from a dialysis unit.   In a pinch I understand you can use tap water (they did at a sleep center I went to) just clean with vinegar to remove mineral deposits at the next oportunity.
If it's good enough to drink then it's good enough for your humidifier.
