Does anyone know the difference between these two machines?  Someone kindly gave me the link to the clinicians manual to the III ST, but the machines aren't exactly alike.  For Example the ST is supposed to give AI and AHI data, the ST-A does not.  The regular ST clinicians (the one I downloaded)
manual is the one my DME seemed to have.  She was not at all familiar with the machine.  I don't know if AI and AHI are available via software or not.  Still waiting for my cable in the mail....

Thanks,
Mary Z.

Mary, did you find out the answer to this?
Yes, Mike I did. I was hoping to find the clinicians manual for the ST-A, but haven't come up with that. The ST-A does not give AI, or AHI, which is a disappointment, but does give RR, TV, pressure (expressed I believe from the number) as IPAP and EPAP pressure/ time combined and divided somehow, or a median. This is interesting. The other info may be available from software download. I also found out though the machine can be used in BIPAP mode up to a IPAP of 30, in straight CPAP the upper limit is 20. Weird. The machine is a monster.
I've found I can't tolerate the precribed 30/25 due to mask leaks so am experimenting with how high I can go without excessive leaks, or waking up to reseat the mask. I don't know of any mask that will work at this pressure.
More than you wanted to know, but thanks for asking.

i appreciate the full response. i was thinking that it's obviously a topic that not many people knew the answer to, so i was hoping if you had an answer you'd share it with the group, which you did, so thanks again!
