I know that I've taken high dose Vitamin D for years for it's help in boosting one's immune system. I sleep like a short hairy baby too....could be a connection?
Biggest issue I've seen with melatonin is that folks take it right before they try to go to sleep. I'm not a MD, that being said, melatonin should be taken at least a few hrs before you're trying to go to sleep.
Walt, not to sound like a broken record, but how much Vit. D?

I will have to look into that Jackie. Do you have any links?
What kind of doses were they taking? I take 50,000u once a week for low Vitamin D. .
This is interesting, where did you do your research? Add again I would like to know what kind of high dose we are talking about. Anything to sleep better!
Thanks,
Mary
Yeah, well, no one told my body that. I was on 100,000 IU a week for almost 3 years. Then 50,000 IU a week for a year. And right now am on 50,000 IU every other week. And I was started on CPAP in Oct 2006.
Thanks for sharing this info.
Can anyone tell us WHY doctors who find we have low vitamin D levels and script high doses of vitamin D always script vitamin D3 when vitamin D2 is supposed to be the most effective?
There are many medical folks out there who actually have their patients who are having issues achieving/falling asleep to get at least 15 min of early morning sunshine everyday. It not only helps "reset" their internal clock, but helps in the natural production of melatonin.
