I have not had my Resperonics machine for very long but would appreciate some help in understanding the daily printout that I obtain using the EncoreViewer software.

In particular I am interested in the Indices section. For example, when I look at today's information it shows on the Sleep Therapy Flags that there were 2 times when OA was present. The indices lists this as 0.3. It also show 15 times when Flow Limitation was present and this is then shown as 1.9 in the indices section.

Is the indices a percentage of the total time asleep?

The overall AHI is usually under 0.5 so from what I have read on the forum this seems to indicate everything is working OK.

Any help with getting a better unerstanding would be appreciated.

Thank you Jeff for the reply in understanding the data. I slept almost 8 hours, which is close to average (give or take a half hour).
For all the things I still struggle with, for example the bulkiness of a full face mask, the need for all the extras (eye protection, nose protection) wanting to scratch my nose just as I have got everything on, the cost (in Australia we don't seem to have as much financial assistance as what I read about on the forum - I am in top cover private medical insurance and have received $800 to help with the cost of a $2500 machine - this is paid once every 3 years - nothing comes from Government for equipment) I can't believe the difference it has made to my life in such a short time. I was beside myself with not knowing why I was so tired and it's a miracle that I didn't kill myself or anyone else whilst driving as I am sure I sometimes dozed off at traffic lights.

My greatest wish is that "someone" would develop a mask that is covers the nose and mouth but doesn't go near the eyes. I have tried the Liberty but each time I use it (I have tried different sized nasal bits) I end up with a sore/tear in the edge of my nostril.

I often see people commenting on the coldness of the air - do you have the heated tubing that is available in Australia, it has made my compliance much easier.

All this makes me wonder what happened to people before this "life saving" technology was developed.

Thanks again
Susan
